In 2020, the Charitable Foundation was established for American Legion Post 42—the Evanston, IL, outpost chartered in 1919. Inspired by the profound isolation many veterans face after transitioning from military "team" life to civilian solitude, a dedicated group was formed to launch the initiative. The bold five-year goal: Raise $100,000 to build a self-sustaining fund supporting homeless and addicted veterans.

 

Fueled by community passion, and bolstered by sponsors who believe in and support our cause, we exceeded our target, raising over $250,000 by 2025.
